Portlanders have experienceda historic level of violence over the past nine months.

Nearly 70 people died in assaults, stabbings and hit-and-runs, but shootings make up three-fourths of the killings. And the violence has disproportionately affected people of color — more than half of those who have been killed are Black, Latino or Asian.
