Portland, Multnomah County to pool funding windfall to help homeless, Mayor Ted Wheeler says
Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler said late Monday he will delay plans to bring an unusually large fall spending package before the City Council until next month.
The decision, the mayor said, comes after Multnomah County Chair Deborah Kafoury reached out to him and City Commissioner Dan Ryan last week about pooling surplus resources to address the city’s ongoing homelessness crisis.
